EEPROM stands for Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory, It's a long name for a small chip that holds bits of data code that can be rewritten and erased by an electrical charge, one byte at a time. EEPROM data cannot be selectively rewritten; the entire chip must be erased and rewritten to update its contents.

How to fix error 6C10 on Canon Printers

This error appears on these printers: MP110, MP540, MP630, MP620, MP640, IP3600... and others...
Solution 1:
  • Move the printhead to the center.
  • Disconnect the printer and check on the right: is the purge unit ok ? No peace of paper ?
  • Do a reset of the printer:
  • Power on
  • Hold down the "Resume" button (triangle in a circle)  for 15 to 20 seconds.
Solution 3:
  • Power off the printer.
  • Open the door.
  • Power on.
  • When the cartridge is in the center, close the door.
  • Open the lid and allow the ink cartridge carrier to center itself.
  • Looking to the right, you will see a row of white rollers behind the carrier.
  • At the end of the rollers there is a small, clear piece of plastic that sticks up. Take a small piece of a paper towel and wipe all of the ink off this piece of plastic. When that is clean move on to the ink pad.
  • About 1 inch, towards the front of the printer from that piece of plastic, is a small square, about 1/2 inch per side, that is a small foam pad. This is where the excess ink is collected.
  • Take a piece of paper towel and press into the foam. Do this until the paper towel is no longer collecting ink. Close the lid, turn off the printer then turn it back on.

how to share the canon printer in Windows 7

You can share the printer connected to the printer server (A) with the client PC (B) connected to the same network.
(A) Print sever
(B) Client PC
The computer directly connected to the printer with a USB cable is called "Print server" (A) and the computer on which printing operation is actually performed is called "Client PC."
<Setup flow>
Follow the steps below to enable printer sharing.
1. Complete the printer sharing settings on the Printer server.
2. Confirm the computer name of the print server.
3. Add the printer to be shared to the client PC as a new printer.
Log in as an Administrator to perform the setup.
When the client PC is Windows 7 and the print server is Windows 7
Canon iP4700 Series is used as an example of the printer to be shared.
Preparations
Both Print server and Client PC must have either of the following drivers installed, namely the one downloaded from Canon website or the one included in the OS. Which driver you should install in depends on the printer / OS.
