How to Install a Wireless Canon Printer

How to Install a Wireless Canon Printer

For many years, Canon printers have been a popular choice for both home and office. The manufacturer has created a number of wireless printers that make it easy to print your work from anywhere in your home or office network. If you have a wireless network, you can connect a Canon wireless-enabled printer to your network in minutes

1. Remove your printer from the box and remove all of the packaging material that came with it. Your printer will ship with a piece of tape holding the cover shut, so be sure you remove this tape before setting your printer in place.
2. Find a suitable spot for the printer on your desk, then install the print cartridges in the printer. Plug the printer in and power it on.
4. Log on to your computer and insert the software installation CD that came with your Canon printer. Allow the software to install and find your printer. You may be prompted for the name of your wireless network during the installation process. You can find this information by placing your mouse cursor over the wireless network icon in your system tray. You may also be prompted for the password you created to secure your wireless network, so make sure you have that available as well.
5. Connect the wireless USB setup cable when prompted by the software. Connect the square end of the USB cable to the printer, then connect the flat end to a free USB port on your computer. The USB slots on your computer will be small slots, two or three grouped 6. 6. together. Remove the USB cable when you receive notification that the installation is complete. The printer will now be communicating with your wireless router via its built-in wireless card

WHAT DOES A PAGE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE DO?

• In simplified terms, here is what a page description language does. When a designer engineer
or architect uses a software application (such as AutoCAD) to create a drawing, document, or
graphic software application, they capture the information required to draw that design on a
page. The software knows where to place lines, text and other elements onto the page. The
software also knows details like how thick the lines should be and what colors to print them.
Though we view this information on-screen as if it were a “picture”, the data that defines the
image actually exits in bytes as a set of instructions that the software application can follow to
remember and recreate the page whenever needed.
When a user clicks “print,” the printer driver helps send that code to an out-put device, such as
a large-format printer. The page description language then takes the code supplied by the
software, interprets that code and uses it to instruct the printer where and how to place the
text and graphics onto the page. Page description languages are therefore part of the core
technology that enables computers and printers to work together.
If it helps, think of it as if a computer and printer are working together on a jig-saw puzzle. The
individual pieces of the puzzle represent the data bytes required to construct the full page as
you see it on the monitor. The computer knows how to put the puzzle together, but the printer
has to do the assembly work. The only problem is the computer software and the printers
don’t speak the same language so they need help communicating with each other. The printer
driver and page description language provides this needed help. Clicking “print” begins a
process by which the software (with the printer driver’s help) collets and sends the pieces, it
uses a page description language to interpret the instruction provided to reassemble the puzzle
and output a print.
